About Us
Prince Edward Island Ghost Hunting Society (PEIGHS)
Exploring the Paranormal Across PEI Since 2008
Welcome to the Prince Edward Island Ghost Hunting Society (PEIGHS), a dedicated team of investigators committed to exploring and documenting unexplained paranormal activity across the island. Founded in 2008, our mission is to research, investigate, and analyze reports of ghostly encounters using a combination of scientific methods and firsthand experiences.

Our Mission
At PEIGHS, we believe in a respectful and evidence-based approach to the paranormal. Our goal is to investigate reports of hauntings, document potential paranormal occurrences, and provide insight to those experiencing unexplained activity. Whether exploring historic landmarks or private residences, we strive to uncover the truth while preserving the stories and history that make Prince Edward Island unique.

Our Investigations
Over the years, PEIGHS has investigated numerous locations, uncovering compelling evidence of potential paranormal activity. Some of our most notable cases include:
-
King’s Playhouse, Georgetown (2009): One of PEI’s oldest theaters, this historic site has long been rumored to house spectral figures and mysterious sounds.
-
Dalton Hall, University of PEI (2008): A well-known location with chilling reports of unexplained noises and eerie sensations.
-
Hunter’s Ale House, Charlottetown (2008): A popular pub where staff and patrons have reported unusual activity.
-
Numerous Private Home Investigations: We have assisted homeowners across PEI in understanding and documenting unexplained occurrences in their residences.
-
West Point Lighthouse Overnight Investigation (2023): Our latest full-night investigation at one of PEI’s most haunted locations, where ghostly legends have persisted for generations.

Our Approach
PEIGHS combines traditional ghost-hunting techniques with modern technology to capture and analyze potential evidence. Our investigations utilize:
✔ EMF (Electromagnetic Field) Meters – To detect energy fluctuations potentially associated with paranormal activity.
✔ Digital Audio Recorders – Used to capture EVPs (Electronic Voice Phenomena) that may reveal voices not heard by the human ear.
✔ Infrared Cameras & Motion Detectors – To detect movement and anomalies in dark or low-light conditions.
✔ Environmental Monitoring Equipment – To measure temperature changes and other atmospheric shifts linked to ghostly activity.

OUR TEAM
Meet the Investigators
Most members have been part of PEIGHS since its inception.

Rushell MacDonald
Founder/Lead Investigator

As the founder of PEIGHS in 2007, she’s helped pioneer a responsible way to explore and share PEI’s haunted history—balancing cultural storytelling with education.

Rushell holds a passion for the history of the Island, and a belief that there is more to life and death then what we think we know.

Her main goal is to bring a better understanding of the paranormal and with understanding, less fear of the unknown.

Suzanne St Amand
Co-Founder/ Lead Investigator

Suzanne has been an avid ghost enthusiast since 2007, when she joined PEIGHS. Her passion lies in exploring the paranormal and conducting thorough research. While acknowledging that not every site may be haunted, she maintains an open mind to the possibilities.
Although she's witnessed unexplained phenomena, her most memorable experience remains capturing a particularly eerie EVP in DeBlois. Ghost hunting, especially when shared with family, remains one of her most cherished experiences.

Suzanne & Amiyah Getson
Researchers / Investigators

Mother / Daughter Duo

Suzanne has been a dedicated member of the PEI Ghost Hunters Society since 2009. With a firm belief in the paranormal, she approaches every investigation with a critical eye, valuing concrete signs and evidence over stories alone. Suzanne’s passion lies in uncovering the truth behind unexplained phenomena while maintaining a grounded and respectful approach to every case.
Amiyah has inherited her mother’s deep curiosity for the paranormal and has been casually exploring the unknown from a young age. In 2023, she joined her first official investigation with the PEI Ghost Hunters Society at the West Point Lighthouse, where she experienced the presence of a young child spirit. With a growing interest and a natural sensitivity to energy, Amiyah continues to explore the paranormal with an open mind and a respectful approach.
