Ann Beaton was a woman from the 19th century who lived in Prince Edward Island. In 1859, at 41 years old, the unwed mother, was found brutally murdered near the hollow where the Orwell River runs through her brother’s farm in Prince Edward Island. While the exact details of her death remain unclear, it was a savage crime that left the community in shock. Many believe the hollow itself has carried the echoes of that violent night. Over time, local legends have surfaced, claiming that Ann’s spirit still lingers in the area, where people have reported eerie sensations—such as feeling the ground shake or hearing distant cries and whispers as if Ann’s tragic death is replaying.

Visitors Experiences

Visitors to the hollow describe a heavy, unsettling atmosphere, where animals refuse to approach, and strange occurrences are common. In one incident, a group of friends walking through the area experienced the sudden cessation of sounds, as if the natural world itself had gone silent in response to an unseen presence. Others have reported car troubles near the spot, with engines inexplicably dying as they approached the place where Ann's body was discovered.

Some believe these strange occurrences are linked to Ann's restless spirit, her tragic end forever tied to the land. The hollow, once part of a vibrant community, now serves as a reminder of a life taken too soon, with the lingering feeling that something or someone is still watching, waiting.

The area where her body was found is now shrouded in folklore, with many reporting eerie occurrences in the hollow she was discovered. Historical details of her life and death remain elusive.
